invincible daughter (poem 5/27 thursday)

we sit on the brink

we really don't think

i try not to blink, something pops

my brain doesn't shrink

but i can't sleep a wink

don't leave me alone with my thoughts

there's something beginning, a game that's worth winning, a wave that'll trouble the water

and inside i'm spinning, but outside i'm grinning, i'm someone's invincible daughter

so i take a drink

i skate at the rink

and i search for a new, bluer sky

i can't find a link

the sky's turning pink

and the sun won't stop stinging my eye
